New interface for Google AdSense: pay a visit
Today, we invite you to visit the new interface for Google AdSense. Check out an overview of the improvements made and new features added::
AdSense
Ads are chosen according to the site's content, the user's geographic location and other factors, and ends up creating a less intrusive ad than most banners, and according to the page content, which became a popular method for offering announcements.
Advertisers sign up through the AdWords service.
Google image search
What makes this search engine, like others, is tracing and indexing thousands of images that are linked to web pages, to, then, offer them to users.
When someone enters the search engine and enters a particular word, this application gives you back images associated with that term, either by having the file name, or because it is related to that word in the contents of the webpage. What Google does is to analyze the text on the page adjacent to the image, the image itself and many other factors to deduce the image content.
This service provides the web's most extensive image search, with millions of images indexed and available to be viewed. To use this image search, just have to go to advanced search page or enter the url http://images.google.com search box to search for images, and then click on "Search". On the results page, simply click on the thumbnails to see the original version, as well as the web page where it is located.
Google has introduced a new type of image search now, the user can choose between the image size options: large, medium, icon, greater than, and exactly, where you can place the exact size of the image you are looking for. The user can also choose the type of image: Any type, face, picture, clip art or line drawing. You still have the option of different colors, bringing a palette of colors.
In this new model, the images are all arranged on the same page where the search was made, we do not need to go down there changing the page number to go farther, just use the scroll bar, on top of that, now the images do not come with information about the image you need to click on it.
Blogger
Blogger was started by a tiny company in San Francisco called Pyra Labs in August of 1999. This was in the midst of the dot-com boom. But we were not exactly a VC-funded, party-throwing, football-in-the-lobby-playing, free-beer-drinking outfit. (Unless it was other people's free beer.)
We were three friends, funded by doing annoying contract web projects for big companies, trying to make our own grand entrance onto the Internet landscape. What we were originally trying to do does not matter so much now. But while doing it, we created Blogger, more or less on a whim and thought — Hmmm...this is interesting.
Blogger took off, in a small way, and eventually a bigger way, over a couple years. We raised a little money (but stayed small). And then the bust happened, and we ran out of money, and our fun little journey got less fun. We narrowly survived, not all in one piece, but kept the service going the whole time (most days) and started building it back up.
Things were going well again in 2002. We had hundreds of thousands of users, though still just a few people. And then something no one expected happened: Google wanted to buy us. Yes, that Google.
We liked Google a lot. And they liked blogs. So we were amenable to the idea. And it worked out nicely.
Now we are a small (but slightly bigger than before) team in Google focusing on helping people have their own voice on the web and organising the world's information from the personal perspective. Which has pretty much always been our whole deal.
For more on Google, check google.com. (Also good for searching.)

Picasa - the most powerful image organizing software
Google Docs
Get 1GB for storing your files, presentations, spreadsheets, images or any other type of file and make them available freely for anyone to download. The links are direct access files, which means that you can publish images to your blog with the quality of a Google server.
But Google Docs is more than just storing files, with it you can edit your documents from any computer, making it possible to start your work on one computer and finish it in another, which to me is a reality at my college.
Currently Google Docs's performance received good improvement that in my test, to edit a Word 2007 file that I uploaded, were downloaded only 460kb, which are all the page's pre-defined tools.
Oh, and if 1GB of storage is low for you, then you can increase this space by paying only 25 cents every year, "measly" for anyone who understands the true importance this online tool may have to those who know how to use it.

How Google was created
How Google was created
Google is a company which develops Intenet services, based in California, United States. Its first service was google search, today the most used search site in the world, created from a doctorate project of the then graduate students Larry Page and Sergey Brin at Stanford University in 1996.This project, called Backrub, arose due to the frustration of its creators with search Websites at the time and aimed to build amore advanced, faster and higher connection quality search engine. Brin and Page achieved their objective and also presented a system with great relevance to the responses and an extremely simple environment. One of the proposals of the founders of Google was to have a discreet and well-directed publicity for the user to spend the shortest time possible, without distractions.
Although Google only celebrates their birthday "when they feel like eating cake", the celebration is official almost always on september 7th, date of the registration of the domain Google.com. With this, some images of the company's past are already popping pup on the internet, check it our:
Acquired about two years ago, the garage where Google was born is today a touristic attraction kept by the company. Although the price hasn't been released, the garage was owned by Susan Wojcicki, Google's Vice President of Product Management. The house can be seen on Google Maps.
Google employees in the last photograph taken at the Palo Alto office, before moving to the Mountain View complex in1999. At the time, Google's logotype was still presented with "!" at the end, altered afterwards to avoid similarities with Yahoo!.
It's possible to see in the photo the founders, Larry Page and Sergey Brin, and beside them, Marissa Mayer, Vice-President of Search Products & User Experience.
The first server you never forget. Not even Google. With a cabinet made of Legos, Google's supercomputer counted on ten 4-gigabyte hard drive, in other words, a total of 40 gigabytes of storage. At the time, something spectacular and expensive.
After moving to Mountain View, Google already operated 5000 PCs.
Big part of Google's income comes from the Google service AdSense, which is for online publicity, through sponsored links.
In 2008 the company released its smartphone platform, Android. One year later it introduced the first version of it's operating systembased on web Chrome OS.
Choosing the name
The name Google was chosen due to the expression googol, which represents the number 1 followed by 100 zeroes, to demontrate the immensity of the Web.The expression googol arose form a rather curious fact. The mathematician Edward Kasner questioned his 8-year-old nephew about the way he should write a big number - a really big number: the biggest number he could imagine. The little Milton Sirotta emitted a sound to answer which Kasner translated as "googol". Later, Kasner defined and even bigger number: the googolplex.
According to the Biography Channel's documentary about the founders of Google, when the first company investor passed over a 100 thousand-dollar check, he asked in what name should he write. Brin and Page said they were thinking of giving the name "Googol" to the company, but the businessman, probably by ignorance, wrote "Google", so forcing the company to have this name.

Why?
"Estação 83"?
It's not the name of a bar or a restricted military area... Just to clear it up.
'Station 83' simply refers to the network point to which we are connected right now. And also 'cause there wasn't any other name available...
And so we keep post every three lines.
